Description
Arabinose is a five carbon sugar found in blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid. Elevated levels of arabinose along with other polyols is associated with disorders of the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), including transaldolase (TALDO) deficiency [OMIM: 606003] and ribose 5-phosphate isomerase (RPI) deficiency [OMIM: 608611].
