Version 2.80

Description

CD27 and CD45RA are both lymphocyte cell surface markers that can be used to classify T-cells into various subsets. Expression of CD27 is characteristic of naive T-cells and some subsets of memory T-cells, while lack of CD27 is characteristic of effector T-cells. PMID: 19454729. CD45RA is characteristic of resting or naive T-cells. Cells expressing both CD27+CD45RA+ are undifferentiated (naive), CD27+CD45RA- T-cells are at an early stage of differentiation and exhibit characteristics of memory T cells, whereas CD27-CD45RA- T-cells are highly differentiated and have characteristics of both memory and effector T-cells.
