Description
Legionella micdadei is the only species of Legionella that stains acid-fast. It stains weakly acid fast and loses this trait upon being grown in culture. It is the agent responsible for "Pittsburgh pneumonia". Tatlockia micdadei is an alternative term for Legionella micdadei, aka Pittsburgh pneumonia agent and TATLOCK strain.
