Description

C-C motif chemokine 17 (CCL17) [UniProt: Q92583] belongs to the family of cytokines, a group of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL17 is also known as thymus and activation regulated chemokine (TARC). It plays an important role in T cell development in thymus as well as in trafficking and activation of mature T cells.[NCBI Protein ID: NP_002978.1] Ye et al. (2015) found that serum CCL17 levels are associated with CAD and atherosclerosis severity independently of traditional cardiovascular risk factors. PMID: 25555269 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
