Active
Description
11-Deoxytetahydrocorticosterone (or tetrahydro-11-deoxycorticosterone, TH-DOC) is, among other steroids like pregnanetriol (P3), a biomarker included in urinary steroid excretion profiles for the evaluation of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to a 17-hydroxylase deficiency. TH-DOC levels are also measured to determine the effectiveness of medication (e.g. cortisol supplementation) against the disease.
