TIF1-gamma
Active
Description
Transcriptional intermediary factor 1-gamma (TIF1-gamma or E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM33), induces inactivation of the SMAD4 protein, which promotes cell growth (including malignant tumours) by inhibiting the anti-proliferative effects of TGF-beta. Anti-TIF1-gamma autoantibodies have been associated with adult- and juvenile-onset dermatomyositis (DM), and particularly with cancer-associated DM.
