Description

Dopamine receptor D2 long (DRD2L) is an isoform of the dopamine receptor D2, which is a subtype of the dopamine receptor. DRD2L antibodies bind to D2L receptors on neuronal cells and affect dopaminergic neurotransmission PMCID: PMC3779221. Elevated levels of DRD2L antibody have been linked to an immune response to a group A streptococcus infection, which has been implicated in tic disorder and neuropsychiatric abnormalities, although this is controversial.
