Description
Norescitalopram is a major metabolite of escitalopram (brand names Lexapro, Cipralex, Seroplex, Lexamil), an antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. Escitalopram is the S-stereoisomer (enantiomer) of citalopram (brand name Celexa). Escitalopram and norescitalopram levels are measured for therapeutic drug monitoring and dosing.
