Description
Autoantibodies against elastase (ELA) may be found in patients with certain types of autoimmune vasculitis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's), microscopic polyangiitis or eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss). The elastase antibody is a type of a antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) that reacts with the elastase enzyme found in cytoplasmic granules of neutrophils. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
