ArticleRegenstrief LOINCNuclear pore complex (NPC) gp210 is a type I integral membrane protein that binds NPCs to the pore membrane. IgG autoantibodies to gp210 are present in 22-32% of patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), an autoimmune disease that progressively destroys intrahepatic biliary epithelial cells. The gp210 IgG antibodies predominantly bind to a 15-amino acid portion of the C-terminal domain of gp210. Studies have shown that the presence of gp210 antibodies in patients with PBC predicts more severe disease and a worse prognosis. PMID: 22487189 Link
