Description
Tumor budding is the presence of single cells or clusters of less than five cells scattered in the stroma at the margin of an invasive tumor. Tumor budding may be a predictor of regional lymph node involvement and is associated with worse outcomes, including cancer recurrence, in patients with colorectal cancer.
