Description
The measles virus (MeV) nucleoprotein (N) gene is analyzed for the detection of MeV in clinical specimens. PMID: 16274752 The N gene is also used for the genetic characterization of MeV. Genetic classification is an important part of laboratory surveillance for measles and to provide support for molecular epidemiologic studies.
