Acetyl norfentanyl is the primary metabolite of acetyl fentanyl via hepatic cytochrome P450. One method used to detect acetyl norfentanyl is solid phase extraction followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrophotometry.http://www.who.int/medicines/access/controlled-substances/5.2_Acetylfentanyl_CRev.pdf Acetyl fentanyl is a highly potent designer drug and a chemical relative of fentanyl.
