Description

Studies have shown that Glycoproteins B (gB), gC and gD of pseudorabies virus (PRV) are antigens that can be utilized in protecting herds and cattle from PRV infection via cell-mediated immunity. One particular study demonstrated DNA vaccine coding for gB of PRV induced cell-mediated immunity in pigs and reduced the amount of virus excreted. Since the transmissoin of the virus occurs from exposure to nasal and oral excretions, vaccine coding for these glycoproteins may play an important role in reducing the spread of the disease.
