Description
Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) is an important swine pathogen. PCV2 has two primary genotypes or strains, a and b. PCV2a was more predominant prior to the advent of vaccines against PCV2a, and since the vaccines were introduced, there has been a global shift in predominance from PCV2a to PCV2b. Other strains have also been identified, including PCV2c and PCV2d, and a recombinant PCV2b strain (mPCV2b). PMID: 28386278 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
