Active
Description
Endosulfan II is one of two isomers in technical-grade endosulfan. It is a cream or tan colored crystalline pesticide that smells like turpentine and is used to treat insects on food and non-food crops. It is also a fungicide, herbicide, acaricide and wood preservative. It is extremely toxic to humans if it is ingested, inhaled, or absorbed by the skin. Endosulfan II is not classified as a human carcinogen. It is dangerously poisonous to fish and other aquatic wildlife. Endosulfan was to be globally phased by 2012.[PubChem: 12309466][https://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/ToxProfiles/tp41-c4.pdf][https://cen.acs.org/articles/89/i19/Endosulfan-Banned-Worldwide.html] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
