Description
Perampanel is noncompetetive glutamate receptor antagonist that is used to treat partial onset seizures. It acts by antagonizing the postsynaptic AMPA subtype of the excitatory glutamate receptor, which prevents receptor activation, inhibits neuronal excitation, and stabilizes hyper-excited neural membranes.
