Description
GBU4-5 is a well-known tumor-associated antigen found in patients with lung cancer. The function of the GBu4-5 protein is not known, but it is one of several antigens that induces the production of autoantibodies that can be detected in the early stages of lung cancer. PMID: 20675559 Ongoing studies are investigating the utility of GBU4-5 being used as a biomarker for the early detection of lung cancer in high risk asymptomatic patients.
