Hydroxyaripiprazole
Active
Description
Hydroxyaripiprazole is an inactive metabolite of aripiprazole, an atypical antipsychotic drug that is a partial agonist of the dopamine D2 receptor and is used to treat schizophrenia. CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 primarily metabolize aripiprazole to its active metabolite dehydroaripiprazole, and CYP2D6 is also responsible for metabolizing to hydroxyaripiprazole.
