Coagulation factor VII inhibitor
Active
Description
Coagulation factor inhibitors can develop in patients with coagulation factor deficiencies after receiving factor therapy as well as in response to various antibiotics, chemotherapy and other conditions such as autoimmune disorders. Isolated Factor VII inhibitors are rare but have been associated with cancer, aplastic anemia, and antiphospholipid antibodies. Patients with less than 1% Factor VII activity may present with severe bleeding, including joint, gastrointestinal, or intracranial bleeding, or severe menorrhagia.
