Heparin anti Xa
Active
Description
Heparin anti-Xa levels are ordered to monitor and adjust standard iunfractionated heparin (UFH) therapy and sometimes low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) therapy. Patients who have "heparin resistance" do not respond as expected to UFH therapy. If the heparin anti-Xa concentration is below the therapeutic range, then the dosage of heparin may need to be increased to prevent excessive clotting. Copyright Copyright © 2021 Lab Tests Online.
