Doravirine
Active
Description
Doravirine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) developed to treat drug-resistant HIV. Compared to second-generation NNRTI drugs that target drug-resistant HIV-1 mutants that are currently on the market (etravirine and rilpivirine), it has better antiviral activity in treatment-naive patients as well as a better safety profile. Despite its efficacy in treating resistant strains of HIV-1, it is not as effective in treating the wild type strain of HIV. PMID: 30606670 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
