Version 2.78

Description

Nicotine (tobacco products) metabolizes to cotinine. Cotinine undergoes further metabolism to trans-3'-hydroxycotinine. Trans-3'-hydroxycotinine represents the major renal excretion product of nicotine. Cotinine and trans-3'-hydroxycotinine are present in biological fluids with apparent elimination half-lives of 20 hours and 15 hours, respectively. Source: Regenstrief Institute
