Description
The KIF6 gene encodes kinesin-like protein 6, which is part of a superfamily of motor proteins that play a role in intracellular transport. Although KIF6 is not directly related to lipid metabolism, there is an association between KIF6 variants and increased risk for coronary heart disease.
