Description

Aldosterone-18-glucuronide (Aldo-18-G) is a metabolite of aldosterone and makes up approximatedly 5-15% of urinary aldosterone excretion. Another metabolite, 3alpha, 5beta-tetrahydroaldosterone (TH-Aldo), reflects 15-40% of aldosterone excretion and usually provides a more accurate index of aldosterone secretion. Determination of both metabolites in urine increases the diagnostic accuracy for primary aldosteronism. Source: Regenstrief LOINC, PMID:7462387
