Donath-Landstiener Ab testing is used to evaluation for paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. False positives can occur with syphilis, infectious mononucleosis, influenza, measles, mumps, chickenpox, other viral illnesses, cold agglutinin disease especially mycoplasma infection.
