Myelin associated glycoprotein-sulfated glucuronic paragloboside Ab.IgM
Active
Description
Sulfated glucuronic paragloboside (SGPG) is a sulfated glucuronic acid-containing glycophingolipid that exhibits strong cross-reactivity with myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG). Both SGPG and MAG have a similar carbohydrate epitope that is found in peripheral nerves and that binds with IgM monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal anti-SGPH IgM antibodies are secreted B cells and are associated with peripheral neuropathy. PMID: 2447123 Anti-MAG and anti-SGPG are usually detected in patients with neuropathic syndrome, though either one could be present without the other.[https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/jcla.20031] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
