Porcine adenovirus Ab

Description
Veterinary Medicine:
Porcine adenovirus (PAdV) is a non-enveloped DNA virus consisting of three species and five serotypes. Pigs are the only known hosts of PAdV; there are no known cases of PAdV in humans. The primary routes of infection is fecal-oral and inhalation. Because PAdV is stable in the environment for days to weeks, fomites may also harbor PAdV. Evidence of PAdV infection is determined by a concomitant rise in antibody titer and clinical symptoms. PAdv is rarely fatal. Testing for anti-PAdV is performed using virus neutralization and fluorescent antibody tests. There is no vaccine or treatment for PAdV.http://www.cfsph.iastate.edu/pdf/shic-factsheet-porcine-adenovirus
