Description
W-18 (4-chloro-N-[1-[2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethyl]-2-piperidinylidene]-benzenesulfonamide) and W-15 (4-chloro-N-[1-(2-phenylethyl)-2-piperidinylidene]-benzenesulfonamide) are emerging drugs of abuse. Although they have not been shown to have specific opioid receptor activity PMID: 29202454, they are structurally related to the opioid agonist fentanyl. W-18 and W-15 are 2 of a series of substances (named W-1 through W-32) that were synthesized in the 1980s as possible analgesics. W-19 is another similar compound that classified as an emerging drug of abuse. At the time of this writing the literature is unclear about the potency of these compounds and their dealkylation metabolites, nor-W-18, nor-W-15 and nor-W-19. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
