Description

Acid phosphatase is a glycoprotein and a major allergen in honeybee venom. It contains several IgE-binding epitopes. The acid phosphatase-IgE interactions stimulate the basophils to degranulate and produce the onset of reactions including formation of wheals, urticaria, flare reactions, and life- threatening anaphylactic reactions PMID: 28035985 PMID: 16630944.
