Description
Two equine adenovirus (EAdV) subtypes have been identified: equine adenovirus type 1 (EAdV-1) and equine adenovirus type 2 (EAdV-2). EAdV-1 is widespread in horses and mainly associated with mild upper respiratory tract infections. Severe cases can lead to acute upper respiratory disease, conjunctivitis, and bronchopneumonia.
