Cefiderocol is an injectable siderophore cephalosporin used to treat complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), including pyelonephritis. It is active against both carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) and drug-resistant non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli. In addition to the treatment of complicated UTIs, Cefiderocol is being evaluated for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia and other carbapenem-resistant infections.
