Symptoms include sleep disturbances such as vocalizations, movements, stridor, and obstructive sleep apnea, as well as problems with gait, swallowing, speech, oculomotor function, and cognition. The disease affects both sexes equally, and typical onset is after the age of 50. Patients with anti-IgLON5 disease usually have anti-IgLON antibodies in both serum and CSF specimens.
