Description

Gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) is a neuropeptide of the bombesin family that elicits gastrin release from the stomach, regulates enteric motility, and is involved in a number of physiological and pathological processes. ProGRP, the prohormone precursor of GRP, has been found to be a reliable marker in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), both as a sensitive and specific diagnostic marker as well as for monitoring therapeutic response PMID: 27747005.
