| Article | Regenstrief LOINC | Linum usitatissimum seed, also known as flaxseed or linseed, is a native plant of Central Asia and Arabia, but is now grown commercially worldwide. Its fiber, seed, and oil have many commercial uses including in the production of textiles, printing ink, paints, varnishes, baking products and animal feed. Of late, flaxseed has been touted as a super food in Korea where it is used in alternative medicine and as a dietary supplement. In sensitized individuals flaxseed has caused occupational asthma, contact dermatitis, and rare cases of anaphylaxis. PMID: 29245212 |
