| Article | Regenstrief LOINC | Levothyroxine (LT4) is a synthetically produced hormone used to treat hypothyroidism. When insufficient circulating LT4 is present, symptoms of hypothyroidism can occur including fatigue, increased heart rate, depression, dry skin and hair, muscle cramps, weight gain and more. https://go.drugbank.com/drugs/DB00451 Only small numbers of patients who have experienced an allergic reaction to LT4 have been reported. One such report was made of a patient who experienced a hypersensitivity reaction to LT4 treatment.
