Description
Oral glucose inhibits the release of somatotropin, or growth hormone. In some disorders such as acromegaly, growth hormone increases in response to glucose. Measuring growth hormone after administration of glucose is used as a screening test for acromegaly and to monitor the response to treatment. Source: LOINC
