Version 2.77

Description

Yersinia outer proteins (Yops) are plasmid-encoded proteins that help counteract the host immune response. The low-calcium response protein (LcrV) is not technically an outer protein but is associated with Yops. All of the Yops use a protein export pathway called TTSS, which enables injection of the virulence proteins into host cells. Inside the host cells, different Yops have different targets and functions.
1. YopN, YopB, YopD, and LcrV interact with the TTSS to enable host cell entry
2. YopE, YopO, YopH, and YopT interfere with host GTPase activity
3. YopM interferes with host caspase-1 activity
4. YopP inhibits NF-kB activation
