Parvimonas micra, previously classified as Peptostreptococcus micros, is a Gram positive anaerobic bacteria. P micra is part of the normal gastrointestinal and gingival crevice flora, and has been identified as a pathogen in various types of infections including periodontal disease and infected root canals, chronic wound infections, acute burn and surgical wound infections, and joint infections.
