Fibroblast growth factor 2 (also known as FGF2 and basic FGF) is part of the fibroblast growth factor family of proteins. There are various isoforms of FGF2; some localize to the nucleus whereas others are stored in the basement membrane for extracellular transport. FGF2 is a ligand for FGF receptors 1, 2, 3, 4, and integrin and plays a role in angiogenesis and regulation of cell processes. [UniProt: P09038] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
