Description
Citrobacter freundii is a member of the genus Citrobacter which are Gram-negative bacteria in the Enterobacteriaceae family. It is isolated from soil, water, and clinical specimens (urine, sputum, blood). It is often the cause of significant opportunistic infections and has been associated with neonatal meningitis and brain abscess.
