Version 2.78

Description

Pregabalin (brand name Lyrica) is an anticonvulsant gamma-aminobutyric acid analog drug used for neuropathic pain and as an adjunct therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults. It has also been found effective for generalized anxiety disorder. Studies have shown that pregabalin is effective at treating chronic pain in disorders such as fibromyalgia and spinal cord injury. It was designed as a more potent successor to gabapentin, and considered to have a low potential for abuse and limited dependence liability if misused. [PubChem:Pregabalin] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
