Anisochromasia
Active
Description
Anisochromasia or anisiochromia is the non-uniform color of erythrocytes caused by a non-uniform distribution of hemoglobin in them. Slight anisochromasia is normal due to the biconcave shape of erythrocytes; if excessive, it can point to forms of anemia that are caused by a deficiency of iron.
