Modafinil (Provigil, Alertec, Modavigil, Modalert, Modiodal, Modafinilo, Carim) is an analeptic drug, and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and excessive daytime sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea.
