Description

Wright's stain is a technique used to differentiate between peripheral blood cells and bone marrow aspirates. Because it distinguishes easily between blood cells, it became widely used for performing differential white blood cell counts, which are routinely ordered when infections are expected, and as part of an assessment of overall health. It is also used in cytogenetic analysis to stain chromosomes and to diagnose various diseases. Copyright Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License.
