Ganglioside GD2
Active
Description
Anti-ganglioside autoantibodies are one marker of multiple sclerosis (MS). In one study, about 30% of patients with MS had anti-GD2-like IgM autoantibodies, and some of those also had antibodies to GD1a and/or GD3. Presence of anti-GD2-like antibodies was associated with significantly more neurological disability compared to patients with MS that did not have anti-GD2-like antibodies.
