Ganglioside GM4 (also known as sialosylgalactosyl ceramide) is one of the gangliosides present in the central nervous system and is a major component of myelin. Anti-GM4 autoantibodies have been associated with multiple sclerosis PMID: 7381512, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Miller-Fisher syndrome, and multifocal motor neuropathy PMID: 17785314 Source: Regenstrief LOINC, PMID: 17785314
