Supported by the LOINC Committee, Regenstrief has had a long-standing policy of returning new LOINC codes to those who made the request (i.e. the submitter) as soon as the LOINC term passes our internal QA processes rather than waiting for the next official release.
For a variety of factors, these pre-release codes are no longer pre-published to the LOINC website, unless they are developed using our Special Use mechanism for emergent public health needs.
