LOINC has registered users in nearly every country. It is a named standard in over 30 countries.
LOINC concepts have been translated into many languages to meet the needs of different jurisdictions. These translations, provided by a dedicated community of volunteers, have enabled LOINC’s adoption.
To improve efficiency for translators, Regenstrief Institute has developed a mechanism that uses the atomic LOINC Parts comprising a complete term.
Available translations of LOINC
The following translations, also known as linguistic variants, are available by several means. They can be used with SearchLOINC and its resulting LOINC details pages. The translated concepts are included in the downloadable LOINC distribution as well as the LOINC Terminology Service using HL7® FHIR®. They are also available from our Search API.
