Part Descriptions
LP249000-3 Pentylone
Pentylone is a cathinone derivative, a stimulant that has been identified as a component of the drug mixture, NRG ("energy"), categorized as a designer drug or substance of abuse. The physiological, neurological, and toxic actions of pentylone have not yet been characterized (2017) but synthetic cathinones cause amphetamine-like effects. They are mainly used for social purposes but are also used for their stimulant properties as a replacement for illicit drug use. Effects of synthetic cathinones depend on the individual, the dosage of drug administered and the route of administration but the primary effects which make them attractive are increased alertness, sociability, effectiveness in work, euphoria, intense physical and sensory pleasure and a decreased appetite. The most common adverse effects are cardiac and neurologic. PMID: 26074740

LP32035-5 Creatinine
Creatinine or creatine anhydride, is a breakdown product of creatine phosphate in muscle. The loss of water molecule from creatine results in the formation of creatinine. It is transferred to the kidneys by blood plasma, whereupon it is eliminated by glomular filtration and partial tubular excretion. Creatinine is usually produced at a fairly constant rate and measuring its serum level is a simple test. A rise in blood creatinine levels is observed only with marked damage to functioning nephrons; therefore this test is not suitable for detecting early kidney disease. Creatine and creatinine are metabolized in the kidneys, muscle, liver and pancreas.
